Sunsport
Sunsport provides sport and leisure activities for young disabled people during the school holidays. We offer a wide range of activities in various facilities across the borough which is supported by a team of Sunsport staff and coaches.

Sunarts

The Sunarts programme complements the Sunsport programme. Previous sessions have included drama and animation project over the summer holidays, in the October half term prints and collages produced by the young people were then turned into a zine. Saturday Klub

This is held at three different venues across the borough, that aims to provide social and recreational activities for young disabled people. Participants take part in activities such as sports, dance, arts, video games and learning, in a youth club environment.

Inspired Sports

This session invites young disabled people along with their friends and family to take part in a range of coached sport sessions. Selected weeks will involve guest club coaches, where participants have the opportunity to try sports provided by their local club providers.
No need to book - this is an open drop-in session at Rochdale Leisure Centre.

Athletics

Open to any age group, this session provides an opportunity for disabled people with a range of support needs to practice athletics.

Bikeability

Uses accessible bikes to create a friendly and social environment for disabled people aged 19 years and over. Every Wednesday - no need to book - this is an open drop-in session.
Playground 2 Podium
- Details
- Category: Disability Sessions
Playground 2 Podium involves a series of events for young school children and adults, providing a pathway to increased opportunities for elite achievement. Participants are involved through their school, and take part in sports such as athletics, boccia, and football. Participants who demonstrate high performance are selected to take part in county and national games.
No booking is required as this is coordinated through schools.
Give it a Go

Give it a Go is a partnership initiative of Link4Life and Rochdale Gateway Ltd, which provides information on Leisure and Cultural activities to people with disabilities in the borough of Rochdale.
