What is included in the Course Fee?
  • Protective and safety equipment (helmet, buoyancy aid, harness etc.)
    Hire of wetsuits and/or waterproofs where required
  • All instruction by our staff
    Use of our on-site customer facilities
  • Transport from the Centre to your activity, and the return journey
  • Cost of certificate and logbook for full NGB qualification courses other than BCU adult courses
What is not included?
  • Footwear
  • Towels
  • Meals and drinks
Physical Fitness
 

Please note that our activities take place outdoors and can be strenuous. When making a booking please advise us of any medical issues and/or special needs e.g. asthma, epilepsy, heart conditions etc. of all activity participants by making sure that you complete and sign the Health Declaration on our booking form.

Such conditions will not preclude involvement in the activities although it may be worth consulting your GP beforehand. Our instructors need to be made aware of these conditions prior to the commencement of your activity. Swimming ability is not a pre-requisite, although water confidence is required to take part in any of our water based activities.

 
Clothing and Personal Items
 

It is recommended that you consider the prevailing weather conditions and time of year of your activity when selecting clothing and equipment to bring with you to your course. Please select the appropriate items from the following list to bring with your for your activity:

 

For all activities
 

Hat and gloves where appropriate

Sunblock where appropriate

Food or drink for full day activities

Any medication you may require (e.g. inhaler)

 

Watersports

Swimwear

Towel

Suitable footwear (trainers or wetboots)

Warm clothing for after your activity

 

Land based activities

Sturdy footwear

Waterproof / windproof jacket

 
Using Your Own Equipment
 

You are welcome to bring your own equipment for use whilst you are with us and we are also happy to provide own boat tuition if you wish to bring your boat to us. Please note however that any personal equipment is used at your own risk and we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage sustained to your equipment whilst at the Centre.

 
Arrival Times and Car Parking
 

Please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the commencement of your activity or course. Our on-site car park is pay and display, please ensure that you bring enough change with you to pay for the duration of your stay with us.

 
Use of Photographs, Video or Digital Images

 

The activities on offer at the Centre are often recorded by use of photographs (film and digital) and/or video (tape and digital). These images are often used in internal reports, displays and presentations and as publicity for similar events.

Some images may be used for external publicity and may be available to a wider audience and may in some instances be viewed by the general public. If you do not wish your image(s) or images of your group to be used for such purposes please inform the centre in writing prior to the commencement of your activity.
