Facilities at the Middleton Arena

Aquatics

Middleton Arena has a six-lane 25 metre main pool and a large separate training pool with fully inclusive spectator seating for 150 people. In the modern changing village there is a series of individual changing areas with additional group and family changing facilities.

The pool is open from 7am Monday-Friday for early morning swims and there are sessions available up to 10pm at night! At the weekend the pool opens from 9am.

Pick up details of our weekly pool programme which includes family swim and splash sessions, aqua aerobics, adult only, primetime for 50 plus, learn to swim and aqua tots.

Develop your own fitness training programme too with our Swim Fit sessions and, of course, we have an extensive programme of public swimming sessions.

Fitness Classes

There is an extensive range of cardio, toning and strength classes, both within our Fitness Centre and Pool, offering something for all abilities. This includes the very popular BodyPump™, BodyBalance™, BodyCombat™ and Spinning.

Racquets

Two high quality, glazed squash courts with semisprung floors provide the ultimate for racquet sport enthusiasts and badminton players will love the new four court Sports Hall.

Courts can be booked up to 7 days in advance and equipment is available to hire or buy. Block bookings can also be made and there are discounts for daytime and weekend use.

Middleton has a thriving squash coaching club for juniors with adult tuition also available.

Sport Hall

With four courts, the 600 square metre multi-use Sports Hall can be used for a range of sports including five-a-side football, basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton.

There is a regular programme of weekly activities with group sessions for all ages and ‘Break Out’ programmes are organised every school holiday.

The sports hall can also be hired for events and competitions.

Ask for details of our birthday party package. With sports, fitness and pool sessions they are great fun and great value.

Passport to Leisure

Middleton Arena is located two minutes from the town centre, bus station and additional pay and display parking.

By car, Middleton is approx 5 minutes from the M60 (Junction 19) and M62 (Junction 19) and 15 minutes from Manchester City Centre.

Access

Middleton Arena is fully accessible to public areas with lift to upper floors. Customers are invited to discuss any special needs.

There is on-site parking for 90 cars with disabled and family parking bays available.

Car park access is via Corporation Street with the main car park at the rear of the building.
