Archives are original documents relating to many aspects of local life, including: business and industrial records, family and estate papers, Trades Union and political records and the Methodist Archive Deposit.
We have produced an Index to our Parish Register Holdings.
We have recently acquired Rochdale Borough Constabulary Records 'Files on individual licensed premises'.
Heywood and Middleton Local Studies Libraries hold some archives relating to their areas.
The main archive collection can be consulted at the Local Studies Centre, Touchstones Rochdale. We ask that you contact Local Studies in advance of your visit as most of the archives are stored elsewhere.
We advise you to contact Local Studies prior to your planned visit to book a microfilm reader.
