Want to join the fastest growing singing phenomenon in the UK? Like to sing in the shower, bath or car? Don't want to audition or have to read music? Want to raise those endorphin levels? Join Rock Choir!

Rochdale's newest and most exciting musical ensemble is here! As seen on ITV1's 'The Choir That Rocks', and following a SOLD OUT performance at Wembley Arena in May 2011.

From Thursday 10 January 2012, Rock Choir Rochdale will be running at The Coach House, Littleborough from 8pm-9.30pm. The Choir will run term times in 10 week terms, and include public performances in 2012. The choir performs a wide range of popular classics from Pop, Gospel and Motown and there is NO AUDITION and NO requirement to read music.

All ages welcome from 10 upwards! The choir is run by experienced teacher and musician Phil Reynolds, a graduate of London's Royal Academy of Music and veteran of West End shows such as Oliver, Chicago and Sunset Boulevard.

Layers of Landscape

This selection of works from the Art Gallery’s permanent collection explores how artists capture different elements of landscape. Featuring both historic and more contemporary works, artists will include Adrian Berg, Ivon Hitchens and Mariele Neudecker. The exhibition includes activities in our under 5’s activity station linked to paintings on display and hands-on activities for 5-12 year olds and their families.

Cloud Nylon: The Jewellery of Nora Fok

Nora Fok is a pioneering contemporary jeweller who works with ordinary materials to create extraordinary pieces from familiar forms to large wearable sculptures. The processes Nora uses – knitting, weaving, crocheting and knotting – transform linear nylon monofilament into complex structures, inspired by her fascination with the natural world and the mathematical models that underpin it. Touchstones Rochdale is the only North West venue for Nora’s exhibition. You can find out more about the exhibition at www.cloudnylon.com.

The Rochdale Pioneers

This exhibition tells the story of the origins of the Co-operative Movement and how it started right here in Rochdale focusing on the lives of the local men who went on to become the Rochdale Pioneers. It will also showcase the exciting plans for the £3million extension of the historic Toad Lane’s Pioneer Museum which will reopen in December in time to celebrate 2012 as the Year of the Co-operatives.

Rochdale Ghost Walks

Rochdale Ghost Walks will run on the first and third Thursday each month – 15/1/12 & 19/1/12; 2/2/12 & 16/2/12. Private parties for up to 30 catered for. Ghostly tales and murderous deeds from Rochdale’s past will chill you to the core on these evening walks around Rochdale town centre. After the walk you can warm yourself in the cosy surroundings of the Baum, one of Rochdale’s finest ‘Real Ale’ pubs.

This workshop lets you experience how comic actors and directors set about making their audiences laugh. A short talk will introduce Roman comedy; its content and authors and their use of stereotypes, stage-space and physical theatre. Then, using a section of a Roman comedy, as a script, you will work together to bring out its side-splitting potential – from how to say the lines to what you wear and where you stand while you say them.

Booking required. For older children aged 10-16. Unaccompanied children must bring a completed parental consent form issued on booking.
