Middleton Arena

The Arena has a regular programme of arts and entertainment including live music, concerts, comedy and dances with stage shows and national tours. With two licensed bars this is the perfect location for a great night out.

The Arena auditorium is a professionally equipped performance space with high quality staging, lighting and sound systems. It seats up to 500 people in theatre style and is also flexible entertainment space that can host up to 300 with a stage and 750 without.

Headsets are now available at Middleton Arena to improve sound quality for the hearing impaired in performances. The Sennheiser in-ear headphones rely on infra-red transmitters in the auditorium to transmit sound to the headsets. Six sets of headphones are available at a hire fee of £1 with a £5 refundable deposit. Headphones can be booked in advance through the Middleton Arena box office.

Scribble Festival 2014

Cartwheel Arts & Tell Us Another One present Scribble Festival at Middleton Arena, an annual literature event celebrating the work of Tell Us Another One writing groups across Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood. This year's festival features performances by Verbally Challenged, Akiel Chinelo and Dominic Berry, as well as a wide range of discussions and workshops throughout the day.

Time: 2pm-9pm

After two sell out shows at Middleton Arena (2009 and 2011) Dave Spikey returns to kick off his 2014 tour with a brand new show. 'Punchlines' looks at the humour of the unexpected. Co-writer and star of legendary comedy series Phoenix Nights and That Peter Kay Thing, team captain on 8 out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), the Double British Comedy Award Winner is one of the funniest live performers in the UK. Dave will argue that you don't always need a punchline for a joke to be hilarious and suggests that if you doubt him, you should ask the bloke with the big orange head! Part of Rochdale Literature & Ideas Festival.

Cinderella has always wished of leaving her life of a servant and meet a handsome prince. After the announcement that Prince Charming is to be holding a royal ball, it seems she may get her wish after all. But with the Ugly Sisters about who knows what can happen, still with the help of Cinderella's Fairy Godmother and a generous helping of fairy dust perhaps her wish will come true?

But there is only one way to find out, so come on down to the Middleton Arena this Christmas to see spectacular scenery, stunning costumes, brilliant songs and dance routines and hilarious jokes. Middleton Band present The Houghton Weavers

Featuring a special performance from Middleton Youth Band.

Middleton Band were formed in 1876 and 2016 is the 140th Anniversary. To build up to this great occasion the band are try something different in 2015 to promote the band, this being the first event. On Saturday 16th May 2015 we will performing with the Houghton Weavers at Middleton Arena. The evening will feature performances from Middleton Band, the Middleton Youth Band and the Houghton Weavers ending the evening with a mass performance.
