Touchstones Rochdale is a great place to visit with something for all ages – and ideal for families with hands on activities in a child-friendly environment. Entry is free and it is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm.
Here you’ll find – all under one roof – the Art Gallery, Museum, Local Studies Centre, Visitor Information Centre and Shop.
Café Life, run by Pure Innovations, is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm with food served from 11am.

Four Seasons in One Day - Gallery Two - 22 March 2014 – 7 March 2015
This exhibition from the borough's art collection explores the four seasons through a range of historic and contemporary works of art. Springtime blossom, summer sunshine, autumn leaves and winter snows are all captured in work from a range of artists including Adrian Berg, Joseph Farquharson, Fred Jackson and Edward Stott.
Talking Heads - Heritage Gallery - 24 May 2014 – 18 April 2015
Portraits are brought to life in this exhibition as personal objects are explored and stories are told. Talking Heads celebrates some of the people of Rochdale who have given to the borough.

A Common Ground brings together the work of three UK-based, Japanese-born artists for the first time who have a shared interest in the natural world as a source of inspiration for their work.

Art4Families Saturday Club invites children and their adult companions to explore Touchstones Rochdale's exhibitions and participate together in collaborative hands-on art & craft making activities led by trained artists and staff. Projects are suitable for a wide variety of abilities and designed specifically for those aged 5-12 years old.
Spring Programme - tickets cost £2 per child per workshop & accompanying adults go free, booking is essential - numbers are limited. Ring Touchstones Rochdale on 01706 924492 (open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm). (There is a maximum of 3 children per adult).
