Touchstones Rochdale

Touchstones Rochdale is a great place to visit with something for all ages - and ideal for families with hands on activities in a child-friendly environment. Entry is free and it is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm.

Here you’ll find - all under one roof - the Art Gallery, Museum, Local Studies Centre, Visitor Information Centre and Shop.

Café Life is closed temporarily because our Café Operator, Pure Innovations, has decided to withdraw from operating the café. We are actively investigating options and will keep you informed of developments. Thank you for your understanding.

The popular annual open exhibition returns! For new and established artists, both amateur and professional, who live or work in the Rochdale borough.

Pick up an entry form and see your artwork exhibited in Touchstones Rochdale Art Gallery.

Handing in dates for artwork to feature in the exhibition are Tuesday 8 September to Saturday 12 September.

Art4Families Saturday Club


childrens-university-logoArt4Families Saturday Club invites children and their adult companions to explore Touchstones Rochdale's exhibitions and participate together in collaborative hands-on art & craft making activities led by trained artists and staff. Projects are suitable for a wide variety of abilities and designed specifically for those aged 5-12 years old.

Tickets cost £2 per child per workshop & accompanying adults go free, booking is essential - numbers are limited. Bookings must be made at in person at Touchstones Rochdale. Ring Touchstones Rochdale on 01706 924492 for more information (open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm).

Guided Walks & Tours in the Borough of Rochdale 2015

Based at Touchstones Rochdale, the Arts and Heritage Centre, our Visitor Information Centre's friendly staff can provide you with information on local walks and tours, as well as events, attractions and accommodation.

Friends of Rochdale Art Gallery

For many years the Friends have been helping the Art Gallery to conserve and acquire paintings for the Collection. Talks by invited speakers about historic and contemporary art and craft are held most months with the occasional trip to visit other art collections. For further information click here.
